how to measure your belt size

How to measure your belt size. It is very important that I have an accurate measurement before I start to make your belt. Whilst wearing your trousers or jeans thread a flexible measuring tape through the empty belt loops. Take an exact measurement and write it down. I will punch 5 oval shaped holes at one-inch intervals the centre hole matching the belt size you have supplied. If you do not have a flexible tape please contact me with your name and address so we can send you a paper measuring tape, this will enable you to make an accurate measurement. If you would prefer more holes please contact me with your special requirements.

The correct place for a belt to end is at the hip so the overall length of the belt will be the provided measurement plus 25%.

Please do not measure an old belt or use your jean or trouser waist size, this measurement will not be correct, please measure your belt using my instructions. Old belts are often misshapen and it is therefore impossible to make an accurate measurement. Do not use the waist size of your trousers, as trousers rarely sit along your waistline, therefore the measurement given as the waist size does not relate to the size around the waistband of your trousers.

If you require an extra long belt there is no extra charge. The hide may not be long enough for the end of the belt to finish at the hip. If requested I can place extra holes to suit your personal requirements.

Most mongoose moon leather belts are great with jeans. Please check the inside measurement of the fabric loops. They will need to take the width of the belt and also the thickness of the leather too. Please contact me if you need to know the exact thickness of the hide that will be used for your belt.

Once I have received your order I will contact you by email or phone. I will need to have the measurement for your belt so please have this information ready for me.
